Just a Little Girl Lost

Just a little girl lost
Stumbling with hands grasping in the dark
Of her gnarled, scarred heart
A glimpse of her you might catch
In the corner of her smile
Despite the wearing of years, underneath lies the child
Who hoped, who dreamed, who laughed with glee
Till the father who held her hand turned away
Leaving her alone, she lost her way
Sorrow became a forest of shadows in her soul
Her eyes dimmed
Sapphire blue bled until it became obsidian
Hardened, jaded, a woman now she stands
Yet if you see a tear fall from her eye
It will banish her crafted disguise
In the crystal drop of sadness will fall
Gracing her blushed cheek
Her true form in clarity speaks
Just a little girl lost

  2. Often we are, though we never want anyone to see it. That whole vulnerable thing you know,it is so very hard to do.

  4. Beautifully beautifully penned. You said it was a different kind of writing. It's different for sure but what's mutual is your talent to express yourself in ways I can not even begin to describe. You know I love you and you might sometimes think that my love blinds my sight. But believe me when I say that I truly adore your writings. They are you, they are part(s) of you. This one is personal and yet universal. I feel you, my dear. I feel and hug you.
